The Great Barrier Reef Masters Games, first held in Cairns in 2013, have been a biennial event ever since. The 2023 Games saw nearly 2,500 participants, and the next edition will take place from 29 May to 1 June 2025. Cairns, known for its attractions, dining, adventure sports, and proximity to the reef, is the perfect location for the event. With over 20 sports already confirmed and more to come, participants from Australia and Oceania can compete in their age group with no qualifying standards, ensuring there’s something for everyone.
